1. Solar eclipse traffic frenzy begins

2. 7-Eleven Bring Your Own Cup Day is back
7-Elven has brought back a popular promotion where customers can bring in any size cup, container, bucket, or whatever and fill it to the brim with Slurpee for only a $1.50.
3. Pancake breakfast with Lakewood police
The Lakewood Police Department is holding its 19th annual Cops that Cook event, whipping up pancakes at the Clements Community Center from 7 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $6 at the door for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the police department's Caring by Sharing program.
4. Free pet adoptions
North Shore Animal League America and Zappos for Good are teaming up to cover adoption fees at three Colorado shelters today. Those shelters are National Mill Dog Rescue in Peyton, Humane Society of the South Platte Valley in Littleton and Wild Blue Animal Rescue & Sanctuary in Colorado Springs.
5. It feels more like August
Friday through Sunday will feel more like August! Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s for Denver and the plains, with low to mid 80s in the mountains under mostly sunny skies.
