DENVER — Colorado retailers are gearing up for the upcoming holiday season and are looking to hire thousands of seasonal employees amid a tight labor market.
Kohl’s announced Thursday that it needs to fill more than 875 positions in the Denver area and will be hosting a hiring event this Saturday at the following stores:
- Kohl’s Parker Store - 11485 Twenty Mile Rd
- Kohl’s Lone Tree Store - 8660 Quebec St
- Kohl's Golden Store - 16700 Colfax Ave
- Kohl's Castle Rock Store - 4800 Milestone Ln
- Kohl's Louisville Store - 919 Dillon Rd

Another national retailer announced Thursday a seasonal hiring frenzy. Target plans to hire 120,000 seasonal team members nationwide, which is a 20 percent increase over 2017's holiday season.
Employees hired after Sept. 16 and will start at $12 an hour, according to a press release from the company. A nationwide seasonal hiring event takes place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 12-14. Candidates can apply in advance today by visiting TargetSeasonalJobs.com.
Seasonal hiring may be more challenging for employers this year. The state’s low unemployment rate, 2.8 percent, is creating a tight labor market.
