Sports Anchor/Reporter/Producer

DUTIES:Performs as anchor, reporter and assists in writing and producing for assigned newscasts. Assists in other production functions relating to the broadcast including video tape editing and photography. Reports on area of expertise. Initiates, researches, develops and writes in-depth stories. Performs as substitute anchor on newscasts as needed. Develops stories periodically assigned by the assignment desk. Talent will be scheduled to make promotional appearances on behalf of the station as assigned. Irregular hours and scheduling can be expected. Days off and job assignments will vary.REQUIREMENTS:Candidate must have a minimum of two years on-air experience in a mid to large market, excellent writing skills and ability to work under deadline pressure. Candidate must have excellent live on-air reporting and anchoring skills, news judgement, and knowledge of current events and on-going local news issues. Candidate must have experience in writing, producing, editing and photojournalism. Must be innovative and actively sources news stories. Journalism degree preferred.
